Wow! It’s opening day soon on your website and the butterflies have come to dance around in your tummy. Is your site noteworthy? Have you got the appropriate copy in place? What if you don’t get any traffic?

As daunting as it may seem, you can minimize your stress and maximize your potential when launching your online link to the paying customer. Being approachable and having a place on your site that allows the customer to link to you will ensure that at least one person will notice. That one person will in turn tell five of his or her friends, and they’ll tell their friends. The old adage “Word of Mouth” is very, very true.

You’ve got a network out there of likeminded people. Use it! Send an email to one of your forum companions. Send invitations out to everyone in your personal email contact list. Phone your mother and ask her to check it out. She’ll tell her friends and next thing you know your website or blog has been up for nine months and you’re going on your 1,500th visitor.

Impossible you say? No it’s not. You simply have to be prepared to be proactive and not lay back and expect everything to come to you. Pain, sweat, tears, and a few good curses will escape you but at the end of the day, you’re going to find that something or someone is going to notice and go wow! Suddenly you’re going to have more traffic than you can handle, and that traffic will generate sales. The likely hood of you making a million that first week is very, very slim – but the potential is there.
