Welcome Guest Author Susan Lyons (also writing as Susan Fox)

Naughty but Nice

Thanks so much for inviting me to blog about my April release, Love, Unexpectedly. I’m thrilled to bits because it’s my first title with the Kensington Brava line (after writing for Kensington Aphrodisia and Berkley Heat) and my first book writing as Susan Fox.

It’s the second book in my sexy “planes, trains, automobiles, and a cruise ship” Wild Ride to Love series. The heroine is the second Fallon sister, Kat.

Naveen Bharani is in love with his neighbour, Kat, but she’s stuck him in the buddy trap. Kat has a disastrous history with men: she’s always picking losers and having nasty break-ups. No way will she risk her friendship with Nav. He’s the best friend she’s ever had and, though she’s attracted to him, she can’t risk losing him.

When she tells him she’s traveling home from Montreal by train for her baby sister’s wedding, the desperate Nav sees this as his last chance. He’s going all out in pursuit of the woman of his dreams. Nav decides to revamp his image and play “stranger on the train.” He’s determined to seduce Kat into seeing him in a whole new light, and realizing he’s the man of her dreams.

Their journey across Canada by train—as best friends playing the “stranger game”—is truly one wild ride to love. And once they’ve started on that journey, there’s no turning back!

You can check out an excerpt and some behind-the-scenes notes on my website.

Today, I thought it would be fun to chat about a game that Nav brings along on the trip. It’s a board game called Nice ’n Naughty, and he uses it from time to time to loosen things up and create a more intimate atmosphere. It’s a great “getting to know you game” for lovers. You roll a die, land on a square that’s labelled with a heart, diamond, club, or spade, then draw a card from the corresponding deck and have to do what it says. Here’s what it says on some of the cards Kat and Nav draw:

• Describe the most deliciously sensual meal you can imagine sharing with your partner.

• What’s the one thing you want most in the world?

• Who’s your favorite person of the opposite sex, and why?

• Give your opponent a foot massage.

• What’s the most romantic gift a lover could give you?

• What’s the sexiest place you’ve ever made love?

• Which would you rather share with your lover: a shower or a bath?

So, here’s your challenge. Answer one of those questions yourself – or ask your spouse, partner, lover, special friend, and share their answer. One person who responds will win an autographed copy of Love, Unexpectedly.

Hi Susan! Thanks for blogging as a YGR Guest. The book sounds like fabulous fun! A couple of months ago I read two books where the guy has to convince the girl that they can be a successful couple and not lose the good part of the relationship. Interesting to see how/why the ladies resist!
Now to answer a question - I'll take an easy one. My favorite person of the opposite sex is my dear hubby (DH). We will be married 25 years this November. He really is my best friend and he asked me to marry him less than a week after we met. We were married 4 months later. What I loved about him then still holds - he has always loved me unconditionally and allowed me to be me without pretense.
Some of the other answers would be fun too, but more intimately personal!
Best wishes for success on the April release! Can the books be read out of order or should I get the first book to read first? Thanks.

Hi Martha. Wow, what a great story about your husband. That sounds like love at first sight! And how wonderful that you can be "you" with him. Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. I hope you're planning something special.

Hi, Susan. You're story sounds delicious. I hope they got a sleeper car. :) As for your questions. Hmmm. I'll take the last one, choosing a bath over a shower to share. It's slower. :) Thanks for a great post!

Hi Laurie. LOL re the sleeper car. Yeah, you bet! In fact there's a special "romance by rail" car that my clever hero manages to book.

As for the bath - slow is definitely good. But, given the limitations of the train, Kat and Nav have to settle for a shower. Did you know that showers on this train have a big alarm button, so you can call for help if necessary? Or, you can bump up against it if you're getting a little, uh, active in the shower...
