Welcome Author Leslie Lee Sanders

AUTHOR BIO: The author of several books of fiction and fiction with spice, Leslie Lee Sanders spends most of her time writing erotic romances mostly in the gay and ménage categories. She currently has two books available for the late teen readers and several erotic romances published as e-books and in print.Published with Xcite Books and Breathless Press.

1.       What do you do for fun?

I write about sexy men who enjoy pleasuring sexy women and other sexy men. But other than that, I enjoy everything artistic. Painting, singing, movie making, creating in any form is always fun for me.

2.       How has your environment/ upbringing colored your writing?

Growing up with six sisters and one brother, and being somewhat of a middle child inspired me to do something to stand out. As an adult, that something turned out to be writing. Not just writing but writing well.

3.       Tell us about your latest book.

Benefits of Sharing is an erotic romance with an MMF ménage theme. Cara has a college regret that is keeping her from having a happy thirtieth birthday.

Blurb: Cara Matthews is about to turn thirty and for her it’s the death of her youth and the beginning of the dull years. Her husband James is aware of her sudden grief and surprises her with something that should take her mind off of aging…young Isaac.
Maybe Isaac could help Cara create her very own wild and crazy experience to share…in more ways than one. And therefore help her transition smoothly from her twenties to her thirties.
Cara is all too eager to finally experience the excitement she's been desperately craving but she's also a little skeptical. Exactly who is Isaac and why is he so eager to please?

It's available now from Breathless Press.http://www.breathlesspress.org/Book/361

4.       Do you have anything new in the works and can you tell us a bit about it?

I sure do! I just finished writing Before the Darkness. It is an MM post-apocalyptic erotic romance. Yes, I said romance. It follows Elliot and Adam on their journey to find survivors and the beauty of their second chance after an asteroid strikes Earth.

For more information on this title and its release, visit my website at www.leslieleesanders.com.

5.       How did you come up with the title for your books?

"Benefits of Sharing" is the main theme of this particular story, so it fits. Cara's husband decides to share his wife with Isaac for one night in order to ensure his wife has a happy birthday. Plus, the title kind of has a double meaning which is also pertinent to the story.

"Before the Darkness" is relevant as a title because time is precious in this story. Immediately after impact an eerie, dark wall of dust and debris is quickly rolling in. So Elliot and Adam have only a few hours before they are completely engulfed by darkness, and that exact amount of time to appreciate their second chance.

6.       Have you ever used contemporary events or stories “ripped from the headlines” in your work?

I have used headline stories as inspiration. Does this sound familiar? New Jersey Governor Jim McGreeveyand his wife, used to indulge in a weekly threesome with their male chauffeur, Theodore Pedersen. The three of them had consensual sex on a number of occasions between 1999 and 2001. They would start with dinner at TGI Friday's and end with sex that all members involved called "Friday Night Specials."

Now insert my short erotic story TGIF: Our Little Secret. Although my story is completely different than the actual events, the idea for the story was definitely ripped from the headlines.

7.       Is there anything you find particularly challenging about writing?

Three things. First, Finding time to write when you're raising three girls and catering to an amazing husband. Second, finishing the stories you began writing when so many fresh and interesting ideas continuously fill your head. Third, eliminating the self-doubt that threatens to keep you from writing because you're afraid that others will think your story sucks.

8.       What advice would you give to writers just starting out?

This is my new motto: If it's easy, you're not doing it right. If you just finished writing your book in thirty days and it was stress-free you probably have a little more work to do on it before your baby is ready to leave its nest. I learned this the hard way. Writing is hard, writing well is even harder.

9.       Who is your favorite author and why?

I absolutely love V.C. Andrews! My favorite books and series of hers are Flowers in the Attic (the Dollanganger Series), Dawn (the Cutler Series), and Melody (theLogan Series). I read them over and over. The family secrets, the rags to riches experience, the evil grandmothers, even the shocking teen sex and haunting incest keeps your eyes glued to pages. I feel what her main characters feel which makes me care for them.

10.   How did you deal with rejection letters?

I scream, cry and vow to never write again. Not really. There were times when I wanted to do just that but I knew better. Rejection isn't an excuse to sulk and give up. It's a writer's reason to keep writing but even better. Rejection pushes you to improve upon yourself. There will always be better manuscripts than yours. Our job as writers is to write a better manuscript than our last one.
